Maria Barbosa Tuesday, January 6, 1925 - Sunday, May 21, 2017

Maria has left us to be with our Lord on Sunday, May 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tino Barbosa of 66 years. Maria was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico in 1925 to Mr. & Mrs. Acension Nino. She married her beloved husband, Tino, on February 14, 1942.
Together they raised four children; 2 daughters and 2 sons: Connie & Albert McCormack of
Arroyo Grande; Tino & Lupita Barbosa Jr. of Santa Maria; Mike & Janie Barbosa of Templeton and Sylvia & Art McCormack of Guadalupe. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and those she considered as family.
Maria was a proud homemaker in Brownsville, Texas before relocating with her family to Nipomo, California where she enjoyed spending her days with her kids and later her grandchildren and great-children. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched, especially with her cooking and baking in her hometown
The rosary/viewing will take place on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary in Santa Maria from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Nipomo. A burial to follow at Arroyo Grande Cemetery.


Maria maria i have no words that could truely express my feelings . My family and I were truly blessed to have had you in our lives. To say a piece of my heart is broke would be an under statement. I know you are singing jumping and running with that big smile on your face because your lord and savory has finally called you home. We promise to do my best at rembering the " dichos" & "consejos" you shared with us. You are absolutely a one of a kind woman of god with values who never spoke negativity and trusted in the lord for everything. Your strength humility and grace stands as a example to us all. We are thankful to have been able to spend the last 12 years with you every step of the way.. untill we meet again

I'm going to miss so much! I'm going to miss your sweet smile, your laugh, and your beautiful soul. I'm grateful for the life long memories of going to the mall and getting cookies, going to Kmart and you feeding the birds, your giving heart, cooking....the list goes on. I'm so grateful to God you were our grandma and my children ,other great grand kids and other people were blessed to have you in our lives. Rest in peace Grandma. We love you!
