Fred C. Wellenkamp Wednesday, November 11, 1942 - Monday, June 5, 2017

Fred C. Wellenkamp, 74 of Santa Maria, Ca died June 5, 2017. Fred was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Santa Maria with his family when he was one year old. He was a graduate of Santa Maria High School and the University of San Diego. He was an active member of the community involved in the St. Joseph High School Bash golf tournament for many years and served as coach of the St. Joseph High School boy’s golf team. Fred was a longstanding member and board member of the Santa Maria Country Club where he enjoyed many rounds of golf and camaraderie with his friends and family. He was the owner and operator of Wellenkamp’s Furniture and Appliances for 24 years and considered his employees as family. He retired in 1995, travelled extensively, enjoyed many great courses and devoted himself to his faith, family and friends.

Fred is survived by Charlotte Silva Wellenkamp, his wife of over 51 years, his children and their families, Fred W. Wellenkamp; daughter Diane Wellenkamp Martino, her husband Ted and their children Megan, Vincent, and Derek; Paul Wellenkamp and his children Claire and Jack; David Wellenkamp & Nancy (Martino) Wellenkamp and their children Sarah, Jenna, Tyler and Kate; Ken & Diana (Higuera) Wellenkamp and their sons Oliver and Evan. He is also survived by his loving sister Claire Wellenkamp Shea and her husband, Gilbert of Pacific Palisades and his sister-in-law Kathy Silva Jones, as well as many loved nieces & nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to a Memorial Funeral Mass on Wednesday, June 14th at 1 p.m. at St. Louis de Montfort Church, 1190 East Clark Avenue, Santa Maria, CA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wellenkamp/ Martino Scholarship Fund at St. Joseph High School, 4120 S. Bradley Rd., Santa Maria, CA 93455; or the Marian Medical Center Foundation, 1400 E. Church St., Santa Maria, CA 93454, or a charity of your choice.

The entire Senne family is sorry for the loss of Fred.  Our condolences to the family.  He will be missed but always remembered in our thoughts and prayers.

Condolences to Charlotte and the children. We had a lot of good times together and he will be greatly missed. Santa Maria has lost one of our great people!
