Antonia "Razo" Lopez Saturday, February 9, 1924 - Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Antonia (Razo) Lopez of Santa Maria, Ca. passed away on June 6, 2017. She was 93 years old.
Antonia was born in Oxnard, California on February 9, 1924. She moved with her family to Betteravia, California at age of six months old. She attended Betteravia School through fifth grade. When they moved to Santa Maria, California she attended Cook Street School and El Camino Junior High. She was only able to attend ninth grade at Santa Maria High School because she had to help care for her younger sibling.
In 1942 Antonia married and lived in Hollister, California for two years. She moved back to Santa Maria, Ca. in 1945 and then back to Betteravia in 1947. In 1952 she married Jose Lopez and they were married for 56 years.
Antonia had many jobs. She worked in agriculture, in a laundromat, at a pharmacy, and as a bilingual aide. She also was very involved as a voter registrar. She loved being around family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling to visit family members. Antonia was a big fan of the San Francisco Giants and San Francisco 49ers.
Antonia is survived by her son, Ray Torres (Alice), Gloria Lopez, Juanita Rosas (Mike),Grace Mendoza (Joe), sister, Helen Canales (Edward). She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Antonia was preceded in death by her parents Gabino and Guadalupe Razo, her husband, Jose Lopez , brothers Everardo Razo, Heraclio Razo and Frank Razo, sisters Jessie Gonzales and Micaela Delgadillo, and nephew Henry Gonzales Jr.
A special thank you to all of the staff at the Villa Maria Care Facility for caring for our mother’s needs. They were very loving and accommodating. The family also wishes to thank Dignity Health Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 5:00-6:00 p.m. at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary. Rosary will be at 6:00 p.m. A memorial celebration of Antonia’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church followed by burial at the Santa Maria Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church hall in Nipomo, California.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,in memory of Antonia Lopez, at P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929..
