Alfredo "Alfred" Rodriguez Thursday, March 12, 1942 - Wednesday, May 10, 2017

Alfredo “Alfred” Rodriguez, 75, of Santa Maria, California, passed away, Wednesday, May 10, 2017.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, May 26, 2017 at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary, 1003 East Stowell Road, Santa Maria with a reception immediately following at 2230 Clearlake Drive, Santa Maria.
Alfredo was born March 12, 1942 in Monterrey Mexico, to Mario and Consuelo Rodriguez. He graduated from McAllen High School in McAllen Texas, where he then joined the army and was stationed at Ft Clayton, Panama Canal Zone. He was recognized as a marksman (M-1 rifle) sharpshooter (M-14 and pistol). He married Edilma Aponte, from Panama City, Panama in 1963 and had five children with her. They were married for 26 years until her death in 1989. He later married, Carmen Yolanda Herrera, in 2000 and they were married for 17 years until his death.
After his army career Alfredo worked for Civil Service and Lockheed Martin in their printing departments. He later left Lockheed Martin for a job in county government helping people as an Eligibility Worker until his retirement.
Alfredo enjoyed traveling, good food, walks, reading and most of all spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mario and Consuelo Rodriguez, his first wife Edilma, brothers Mario Jr., Mike, Roberto and Eliseo Rodriguez.
Survivors include his wife Yolanda, his six children, daughters Teressa Johnes (Chuck), Beatrice, Anne, Cristina and Hayley Rodriguez a son Alfred Rodriguez Jr., grandchildren Ryan and Quinn McGinty, three sisters Hilda Hill (Lee), Delores Araguz (Alfredo), Lupita Arredondo (Jaime), a brother Ernesto Rodriguez, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association:
